Looks and Fits Good, Quality Not Overly Impressive

Like many of the other reviewers, saw this pics on IG and had to throw it back to the DCU. I've never owned a Wooby but had been curious about them for quite a while. After just a dozen times wearing it, I'm already having threads pulling out from inside the collar, strands of material coming out through the underside of the sleeves and the zipper doesn't run smoothly. Maybe I got a lemon? I still like the fits/look and it's a nice blend of warm enough for cool temps but can still be worn if temps rise a bit. At 5'11 190lbs, the large fits me well with an athletic build, but I just wish it held together and the stitches and durability were a bit better. I'm not even wearing it in a rough and demanding work-wear sort of way, just day to day use with plenty of time outdoors.

Awesome!

This is a great product, Cody and Team! From order to delivery to first time impressions — all great in every aspect! I will stress that I typically only wear this while sleeping, if this is cold for Hawai’i standards. That will change quickly though when I move back east. So, I will be very eager to update this review on my impression of the wooby hoody once back officially in the cold. Semper Fi, Cody and wedeythenorm team!

Full Metal Jacket

I had dreams of joining the USMC and trying to qualify to be a 0321 sniper but a car accident after the 1995 super bowl broke every bone in the left side of my face and ended that dream. The reconstructive surgeon said that if it was not for heavy weight training, my neck would have snapped like a twig, so I thought that was my calling to pursue bodybuilding and a career in the fitness industry. By 2002, I found myself managing the fitness department at the Oceanside 24 Hour Fitness, near Camp Pendleton. Coincidentally, seven out of 20 personal trainers were Marines. At age 23, I was humbled and honored to be the manager of these Marines, two of whom included SgtMaj Milton Anderson who was seventeen years old when he deployed to Vietnam. MSgt Tom Fisher, two SSgt, and a couple Sgt were on my team. Needless to say, we quickly became the number one club in the company, nationwide and began breaking production records. I remember trying to keep up with MIlton, who at age 52 could knock out 32 pullups and run like a machine. It made me better and it made me challenge myself everyday. I attribute my success in life in part to spending a couple years with these Marines. They truly were a different breed... Fast forward 22 years into the future to January 2024, where my wife and I drove to San Diego to help her cousin (a retired USMC MSgt) with his lower leg amputation, which took place at the VA hospital in La Jolla... After six deployments and debilitating injuries, including multiple surgeries, the decision was finally made to amputate the leg. I had heard horror stories about the way veterans are treated by the VA and the week I spent sitting next to my wife's cousin only solidified those stories... Immediately after the amputation, Donnie was placed in a room with three other patients. The temperature was at least 80 degrees and lets just say that based on what was happening with the other patients in the room, combined with the temperature and proximity, the room was far from sanitary. Donnie was sweating, miserable, and in unbearable pain and he was not given anything stronger than tylenol due to the VA policy that attempts to prevent opiate addiction. My wife and I contacted a patient advocate and pleaded with multiple hospital staff members to get him something stronger. Two days later, after 48 hours of hell, they moved Donnie to a different room and finally gave him some Dilaudid to manage the pain. It was the first time he slept after the amputation... I could go on and on but unfortunately what Donnie has been dealing with is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the utter ineptitude of the VA and also how we care for our Veterans in this country. Not to mention but there are currently 400,000 veterans waiting for medical care or procedures, etc and some corrupt politician decided to take $95M of the VAS budget and allocate it to "immigrant healthcare." Don't even get me started with that bullshit because our country is being invaded. The American I grew up in is gone but in the hearts of some men and women, there exists a burning desire to wind back the clock to a time when things made sense; where we felt free; where kids were safe; when trucks had gun racks; when food wasn't genetically modified; and where disagreements were settled the old fashioned way. I feel like Donnie, Cody, and my cousin Dennis (Army Ranger Team Leader during Desert Storm 1991) are the type of men who motivate me to get better and not give up faith in the America that I remember. I have a lot of thoughts about this but at the end of the day for me, this was about more than a Jacket, which by the way is awesome. Yours Truly, Tiktok @unchained.brain
